Couponing 101 with the CouponCentsation: Feel Good About Couponing

Look around when you are shopping and you will likely find someone hiding the fact they are using coupons. Or you may know someone who is commenting negatively about all those couponers or hoarders. So do you have some guilty feelings using coupons?

If you are feeling guilty or ashamed, DON'T and here is why.

First of all, the use of coupons WILL NOT cause a store or manufacturer to go bankrupt or unexpectedly loose money. Stores are encouraged by manufacturers to accept their coupons and are rewarded for doing so by being paid $0.08 handling fee. Plus they are repaid the face value of the coupon. Overall, accepting manufacturer coupons is a profitable practice for stores.
Secondly, manufacturers have a yearly budget for coupons. The manufacturer's know, based on historical data, how many coupons will be printed in newspapers and circulated and the percentage of those that will be redeemed. They use this information to calculate their yearly coupon budget.

Update: Its SNOT Funny!!!!!!

 As most of you know, we have had the stomach bug at our house this week! With 3 kids, its always interesting how fast the BUG can travel. On Wednesday, we got a note from school saying that the bug was going around. Our 4 year old daughter, Addie woke up at 3:30am Thursday morning sick. By 8am Thursday, I was sick with the same bug.


We decided that since we thought all of us would get it to keep everyone home from school and work. Daddy took our youngest pictured to the left, Josie and our 4 year old Alex out of the house for a bit. Upon their return, Alex had gotten sick! FUN TIMES! 


Last night, I took Addie to the Urgent Care as she had a 103.7 fever and was complaining of feet and leg pain. I knew that she had to be dehydrated. They sent us straight to the ER. Once in the ER, she was better after medicine. But, I was still sick as a DOG. I did not want her daddy to take her as for those that remember, he was so sick in May and already has several immune deficiencies. We came home and all slept through the night. Alex and Addie are feeling better this morning. I am on the mend~ 

A few minutes ago, Josie came running out of the sunroom with tons of wet wipes! She had emptied the whole box! I had to grab a few pics to share with you....

PS: Ready for a laugh?? Last night while in the ER, Addie was killing me with her remarks. 
* She told the nurse that the pink tub was not for getting sick and yet it was for "WASHING BABIES". She was referring to her NICU pics as those are what the twins were bathed in when they were so tiny~ 
* She said, "Mom, I am going to be a doctor when I grow up, just like you and work at the hospital". Well Addie, I do work at the hospital, but I am NOT a doctor~ How funny! Kids are so smart~
