I am sure that many of you have had nurses in your life that have gone above and beyond to make a difference! When reflecting on Nurse's Week, there are three influential people that will always hold a special place in my heart!
In picture #2, you will see Nurse Amy. I met Amy when I spent many of weeks in Antepartum, during my pregnancy with the twins. Amy and I always had a GREAT time trying to find ways to keep me busy while on bed rest. I truly feel that Amy's passion for her job has influenced me to become who I am today. Thanks Amy for all you did for our family and for showing me what it means to make a difference. Through my job as a NICU Family Support Specialist, I am giving back in all the ways that you gave to me!
In picture #1 and #3, you will see Nurse Joann. Our family met Joann on Christmas Day 2007 after Addie and Alex had already spent 5 days in the NICU. Joann was our "Day Primary" nurse while we were there. We LOVE her to pieces! Thanks Joann for taking care of our babies as your own.
Last but not least, picture #4.... Holly, our "Night Nurse" Primary. Holly was a fantastic nurse and we can't say enough about how much she did for our babies. Not only was Holly their nurse in the NICU, but she also came and helped us at home with Addie and Alex for the first two weeks. Taking a child home from the NICU can be challenging and emotional. Holly was there to help us out during middle of the night feedings. Thanks Holly!
Don't forget to take time this week to thank those that have made a difference in your life!
