From what I hear, the Christmas Light Trade-In Event at Home Depot is always a hit. They have released their information for the Trade-In this year~ Check out all the details about the Home Depot Trade-In event before heading out to your local store. In addition, there is a Home Depot Coupon that you can take with you to the event as well. Please note that this event is through November 14th. The lights that you Trade-In can be in any condition from what I gather. Last year, people even traded in broken holiday lights.

Frugal Fun: Glow in the Dark Bath for Kids

This past week, we tried an idea that my friend Amanda shared with the kids. At their Halloween party, they came home with Glow Sticks. There is no way that they were waiting til Halloween to break them open. So, we did what we had heard was an awesome idea for kids by placing them in the bathtub with the kids. The water glows in the dark and lights up with bright colors! They had a BLAST! They could have stayed in the tub for hours!

Now that Halloween is over, you will be able to find Glow Sticks super cheap! I was at Walmart today, where they had the $.94 glow sticks for only $.25. You better believe that I stocked up! These will also make a great stocking stuffer for the holidays!

Coupon Binder??? YAY or Nay??? How I organize My Coupons!

As you all know, I have tried so many ways of organizing my coupons over the past 2 years.
I have finally found a METHOD that I am going to love!
I have been doing a smaller version of this, but am NOW PREPARED to do it all this way!
Above you will see the box that hosts 90% of my coupons!
This box has hanging file folders that are labeled with the insert date and name!
For example, the Red Folders are for Red Plum and then they have the insert date on them.
Most times with ad match ups, I am able to just pull the inserts and cut the coupons when I need them! I was so tired of spending SO MUCH time cutting and organizing coupons~
With getting 15-20 inserts a week, I do not have time to cut every coupon!
I do not regret ever using a coupon binder as it was a great tool to get me started. For those of you that swear by the binder system, GREAT!
I truly encourage you to do whatever works for you!
Everyone of us is different and that is why we work so well as a team!
Looking to get a binder, be sure to check out the Coupon Clutch system that I used for over a year~ Any loose coupons that I get from FREEBIES or in the Mail, etc, will be filed in my coupon clutch so that I do not misplace them!

Crockpot Recipe: Apple Glazed Chicken

I know its Tuesday but beginning today and continuing through the remainder of the week we will honor the fruit of the month, the apple. As orchards begin winding down their harvest, fresh apples are easily found across much of the nation and lets use them in several different ways from breakfast to dinner and also those important deserts. Tonight we begin with a dinner entree that can be made before you leave for work in your crock-pot and be ready for you when you get home, Apple Glazed Pork Chops

Ingredients

• 4-6 Pork Chops (I prefer boneless or loin chops)
• 6 Granny Smith (or other baking/cooking apple), cored, peeled and sliced
• 1/4 to 1/2 c Apple Cider (or Apple Juice) 
• 3 Tablespoons Quick Cook Tapioca
• 3 Tablespoons Packed Brown Sugar
• 1 Teaspoon All-Spice
• 1/2 to 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon 
• Salt & Pepper to Taste

Directions

• In your crock-pot, layer the apple slices
• Place pork chops on top of the apples
• Mix tapioca, salt and pepper and sprinkle over pork chops
• Mix together cider, brown sugar, all-spice and cinnamon and pour over chops
• Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours

Total cost of the meal based on sale pricing and coupons: $6.00

Wednesday Recipe: BBQ Mac N Cheese

One of our favorite recipes! Its one of the most easy recipes we have at our house! The kids LOVE it, the recipe is easy to make and most important, its cheap!

Ingredients

• 1 Box Shells and Cheese (Save $0.50 off 1 Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Dinners or Velveeta Shells and Cheese, SS 8/28/2011)
• 1 lb Hamburger
• 1/2 cup Barbeque Sauce (I enjoy using a sweet and smokey one)

Directions
Brown Hamburger and Drain
Prepare Shells and Cheese per box instructions
Add Hamburger and Barbeque Sauce and Mix

That is it! We enjoy this so much as a family that we double this recipe to serve the hungry five of us.
